Katherine Blakeney is an animator, graphic novelist, and artist. Her award-winning short films have screened at festivals all over the world and she has animated on projects with the British Library, the Arts Trust Scotland, IdeasTap UK, and Disney. She is currently writing and illustrating a graphic novel for Wayward Raven Media. Her hero is a physically or mentally disabled intellectual who is a brilliant illusionist and actor. He travels through time and space and appears in various incarnations in different media. In her upcoming graphic novel, he takes the form of an alien prince fighting to protect the art and legacy of his planet from Napoleon’s invading army. In a new project currently in development, he is a disfigured WWI pilot in 1920s Paris, staging a surreal theatrical operation to punish the traitors who destroyed his face and identity.
